WOMENS DEVELOPMENT XI - 09/04/2022 VS HARLESTON MAGPIES (H) TEAM: Womens Development XI DATE: 09/04/2022 FIXTURE: Womens Development XI VS 09/04/2022 HEADLINE: Final match of season ends in a win LEAGUE: NORFOLK DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE LEAGUE SPONSORS: EMPRESA LIMITED VENUE: RESULT: 4- NC 1- HM REPORT: A fabulous end to the season, with everyone playing with grit and determination. There were some great passages of play between all the girls. Harleston put up a good fight, but Norwich managed to put 4 into the goal, securing a 4-1 victory. As it is the last game this season, all the players would like to thank Ali for his hard work and dedication to the sport. The girls have had a fantastic season, it's been lovely to see them starting to gel together and have fun on and off the pitch. Continue to enjoy the game, have fun, and good luck to the girls moving up to the womens next year.

WOMENS DEVELOPMENT XI - 12/03/2022 VS YARMOUTH (A) TEAM: Womens Development XI DATE: 12/03/2022 FIXTURE: Womens Development XI VS 12/03/2022 HEADLINE: One player down - a tough draw with no score!! LEAGUE: NORFOLK DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE LEAGUE SPONSORS: EMPRESA LIMITED VENUE: Cliff Park High School RESULT: Norwich city- 0 Yarmouth- 0 REPORT: With only 10 players available this week, Norwich City knew they had a tough match ahead. The girls fought hard throughout the match, Yarmouth looked to have the upper hand in the first quarter, but with some solid defence by Sophia and Alice, Norwich managed to hold their own. Yarmouth was close to scoring on a few occasions, but Amber Macintyre refused to let the ball go in the net with some fabulous saves. Norwich City had some great play midfield and had a couple of opportunities to score, but couldn't quite place one into the back of the goal. It was a great team effort - well-done girls (and Ali) !!!!

WOMENS DEVELOPMENT XI - 26/02/2022 VS DEREHAM (H) TEAM: Womens Development XI DATE: 26/02/2022 FIXTURE: Womens Development XI VS 26/02/2022 HEADLINE: Dominant Dev's Put 5 Past Dereham LEAGUE: NORFOLK DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE LEAGUE SPONSORS: EMPRESA LIMITED VENUE: Taverham Hockey Ground RESULT: Norwich city :5 Dereham: 0 REPORT: After a couple of weeks' break from playing Norwich City Devs were looking forward to another league match. The match started on a fairly even keel, both teams battling hard for the ball with Norwich taking a while to gell together again after the half-term break. Lucy W was the first one to put a goal in the net, from then on Norwich City kept the ball in their half for most of the match. Dereham did have a couple of breakthroughs and looked close to scoring, but Sophia's solid defense took some getting through. Mary L scored a smashing goal from the top of the D with another 2 great scores by Sophia and another one by Lucy. Well Done team.

WOMENS DEVELOPMENT XI - 15/01/2022 VS WATTON (A) TEAM: Womens Development XI DATE: 15/01/2022 FIXTURE: Womens Development XI VS 15/01/2022 HEADLINE: City overcome early setback LEAGUE: NORFOLK DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE LEAGUE SPONSORS: EMPRESA LIMITED VENUE: RESULT: REPORT: City started brightly and missed a couple of good opportunities but, were rocked by Wattons first attack which resulted in a short corner from which they scored to give the home team a 1-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. In the second quarter City started to find their stride with a number of circle penetrations and shortly before the break won a short corner from which Lucy Webster scored to bring the scores level at the half time break. City took the lead early in the third quarter when Amber Silvester scored from a narrow angle after good work by Milly Evans. City continued to create further chances into the fourth quarter and finally sealed the game with five minutes remaining when player of the match Lottie Hood had a good passing interchange with Lucy Webster before driving to the top of the circle to unleash a shot into the corner to give a final scoreline of 3-1.

WOMENS DEVELOPMENT XI - 11/12/2021 VS NORWICH DRAGONS (H) TEAM: Womens Development XI DATE: 11/12/2021 FIXTURE: Womens Development XI VS 11/12/2021 HEADLINE: A feisty close match against Dragons LEAGUE: NORFOLK DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE LEAGUE SPONSORS: EMPRESA LIMITED VENUE: Taverham RESULT: Norwich Dragons: 4 Norwich City: 3 REPORT: This weekend was back on home turf against the Dragons. Under the floodlights, with one of the closest matches yet, saw Dragons score in the first half with another one soon followed by Lucy W. As the rain started to fall in the second half, Dragons managed to put another one past goal-keeper Amber M. In this half Dragons managed to hold much of the play in their own half, Amber M. made some fantastic saves enabling Dragons to only get another 2 goals. Norwich City fought back hard with another 2 goals by Ava and Milly, however, in the final few minutes, Dragons managed to take the lead by scoring the final goal.

WOMENS DEVELOPMENT XI - 04/12/2021 VS HARLESTON MAGPIES (A) TEAM: Womens Development XI DATE: 04/12/2021 FIXTURE: Womens Development XI VS 04/12/2021 HEADLINE: A solid win for City against Magpies LEAGUE: NORFOLK DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE LEAGUE SPONSORS: EMPRESA LIMITED VENUE: RESULT: NC: 3 Harleston Magpies: 0 REPORT: This weekend's fixture saw Norwich City Devs away at Harleston Magpies. With no substitutes to play this weekend and against a strong team Norwich City was dominant from the start with most of the play being in City's half for the first 30 minutes, however, Norwich City were unable to put a score past Magpies goalie. In the second half, City retained the dominance of the first half, passing the ball well and with accuracy. Amber. S managed to nip one passed Magpies goalkeeper in the second half with another 2 confident scores added to the board by Lottie Hood, leaving Magpies trailing behind by a 3-0 lead until the final blow of the whistle. Another good win.... well-done team and team coach, Ali!!

WOMENS DEVELOPMENT XI - 27/11/2021 VS YARMOUTH (H) TEAM: Womens Development XI DATE: 27/11/2021 FIXTURE: Womens Development XI VS 27/11/2021 HEADLINE: Comfortable win in uncomfortable weather ! LEAGUE: NORFOLK DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE LEAGUE SPONSORS: EMPRESA LIMITED VENUE: Taverham RESULT: Norwich City: 9 Yarmouth: 0 REPORT: With 16 players to pick from this week, Norwich City played well in cold, wet, windy, and dark circumstances. Lottie Hood scored early in the match with a lovely strike from the edge of the circle, another 6 goals followed on in the first half by Norwich. Yarmouth clung on and battled well with their goalkeeper making some fabulous saves. In the second half, there were some lovely and confident passages of play by all the players which resulted in Norwich another 2 goals up, meaning the final result being 9-0. After a good soaking on the pitch the warm meal at the end of the game was very welcome by all!!

WOMENS DEVELOPMENT XI - 20/11/2021 VS NORTH NORFOLK (H) TEAM: Womens Development XI DATE: 20/11/2021 FIXTURE: Womens Development XI VS 20/11/2021 HEADLINE: Norwich City defeated on home turf LEAGUE: NORFOLK DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE LEAGUE SPONSORS: EMPRESA LIMITED VENUE: Taverham RESULT: Norwich City: 0 North Norfolk: 5 REPORT: With no subs to play this week Norwich City started with a strong performance, however, in the first half, North Norfolk managed to snatch a goal past our defenders making it 1-0 to the away team at halftime. In the second half, Norwich City played hard with some excellent saves by our young goalkeeper Sophie Evans. There were some great passages of play by all with some good teamwork. Lottie, Amelie, Sophia, Mary, and Alice all looked very strong on the pitch. There were some good attempts at goal but unfortunately, Norwich City was unable to put a score on the board this week and North Norfolk had a great win by 5 goals.

WOMENS DEVELOPMENT XI - 13/11/2021 VS DEREHAM (A) TEAM: Womens Development XI DATE: 13/11/2021 FIXTURE: Womens Development XI VS 13/11/2021 HEADLINE: Another good win for City LEAGUE: NORFOLK DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE LEAGUE SPONSORS: EMPRESA LIMITED VENUE: Dereham Hockey Club RESULT: NC: 3 Dereham: 1 REPORT: At Dereham hockey club, on a damp and rather grey early morning, the match started with Dereham looking like the stronger team in the first quarter with an early first goal. Norwich soon retaliated back, with a goal nipped in by Amber. Scores soon followed on by both Olivia K and Mirri, all within the first half. No team scored in the second half but was a good performance played by all, with Sophia having a strong game in defence and Goal Keeper Amber preventing Dereham from scoring again! A special mention has to go to our new team mascot- Rubys Grandad - who wins points for the best vocals and kept the parents amused throughout the second half!!

WOMENS DEVELOPMENT XI - 16/10/2021 VS EAST COAST (A) TEAM: Womens Development XI DATE: 16/10/2021 FIXTURE: Womens Development XI VS 16/10/2021 HEADLINE: Another win for City LEAGUE: NORFOLK DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE LEAGUE SPONSORS: EMPRESA LIMITED VENUE:East Coast REPORT: Lowestoft, although a man down made an early break scoring first early in the first quarter. Mirabelle Harden equalised for Norwich just before the second quarter. Coming back strong, Lucy Webster scored twice in the second quarter bringing the halftime score to 3-1. Millie Evans and Mirabelle Harden both scored before Lowestoft scored their second goal. Lowestoft were kept under pressure in the 4th quarter with a goal from Alice Baker bringing the goal count for Norwich to 6 Olivia Kazimierczak scored the final goal to conclude the successful match. Isla Bell in goal made some great saves only conceding 2 giving Norwich a very respectable 7-2 win.
