REPORT:NCHC 3s came into the fixture fired up after beating Ipswich last time out, and Captain Helen set the tone early with a simple, sharp pre-match instruction: win.
The nerves didn’t last long. Mollae struck first, settling the team and giving NCHC the perfect start. But Ipswich weren’t there to repeat history easily, and they found an equaliser to pull the score back to 1–1.
Hollie, determined to break a goal drought that had stretched over several matches, produced a moment of pure individual brilliance. Taking on the keeper one-on-one, she absolutely rocketed the ball into the top of the net to restore the lead at 2–1. The team looked ready to go into halftime ahead—until Ipswich won a short corner with the final play of the half and converted, leaving the score frustratingly level at 2–2.
Whatever was said in the break clearly worked. Within minutes of the restart, NCHC won a short corner of their own, and Hollie stepped up again, coolly slotting home for her second of the match.
From there, the midfield duo of Lola and Hannah dominated—relentless energy, speed, and sharp stick skills keeping Ipswich on the back foot. Their hard work paid off when Lucy picked up the ball, danced her way into the D, and set up Harriet, who finished clinically to make it 4–2.
With a two-goal cushion, it was over to the defence to see things out. Lotte and Marie were outstanding, shutting down counterattacks and keeping Ipswich from gaining any momentum.
Right at the final whistle, NCHC earned one last short corner—and Hollie capped off a phenomenal performance by firing home her hat-trick goal, sealing a superb 5–2 victory.
