LEAGUE: EAST PREMIER DIVISION VENUE: St Albans RESULT:3-2 REPORT: Norwich City Womens 1s travelled to St Albans in true away day spirits with only one thing in mind... staying in PremA. With essential wins required from the last few games, City new what they had to do. The weather held out and St Albans have a lovely hockey set up so the team was feeling positive. After a powerful team talk by head coach Matthew Brine, City went one-nil up in the first few minutes and with this flurry of excitement quickly snuck a second in. St Albans were not to be deterred, they responded with some excellent movement down the wings and on winning a short corner brought it to 2-1. Nothing could sway City today, a win was what they came for and with some unbelievable defence work, Susie Edwards picking anything that came to her, the ball worked its way to the D via Sophie Mullan loving her Centre Mid role today, Alice and Ellie both persuing the goal and then... 3-1 up! With less than 10 minutes past, St Albans brought the score to 3-2! Was this going to be it? The highest scoring PremA game to have been played!? No. Back and forth continued for the rest of the game, fear from both sides, was City going to lose their discipline? No. Were St Albans going to tire? No. A hard fought match by both sides with the final score 3-2 to City and special mention to some exciting cards and feistiness from both sides - what a game. Goals: Ellie, Olinand Krystal.

L (1-3) 08/02/2020 - W1 vs Cambridge University 1 (A / L) 70 MINUTES OF HARD WORK |
---|
WOMENS 1ST XI - 08/02/2020 VS CAMBRIDGE UNIVERSITY 1 (A) TEAM: Womens 1st XI DATE: 08/02/2020 FIXTURE: Womens 1st XI VS 08/02/2020 HEADLINE: 70 Minutes of hard work LEAGUE: EAST PREMIER DIVISION VENUE: Wilberforce Road, Cambridge RESULT: 3-1 REPORT: Norwich City W1s travelled to their second away match in a row, finding themselves once again at Wilberforce road. With a good warm up, City coach Matthew Brine waking the team up with some pre match sprints, the womens were ready to work for 3 points. Cambridge University were disciplined and drilled, and City took a few minutes to settle in to the game. With Cambridge University firing balls into the D, playing very high forwards they had a few narrow misses but the City defence stuck tight. Cambridge University won a short corner in the first 10 minutes and secured their first goal and shortly won a few more following their good distribution and movement throughout the pitch. Norwich City remained calm, restructured their formation and found themselves in Cambridge University's D following some excellent determination and skill in particular by Stacey Lee, Ellie Brine and Harriet Johnson. Krystal Bishop and Sophie Mullan both growing frustrated following their narrow misses - but they reset and did not loose hope! Cambridge University scored their second goal at another short corner but credit must go to Norwich City defence for their continued work rate and great defending against a slick Cambridge side. Half time came, both sides deserving a break after a great 35 minutes of hockey on a beautiful day. Following half time, City new what they had to do, now understanding more about Cambridge University's approach. Kate Houldrey working hard at right back sending some well executed balls up the right; Susie Edwards doing some excellent sweeping and credit to the whole team for their work rate. Cambridge University, although receiving a card and being a player down, with their calm and slick movement managed to slip another goal in bringing it to 3-0 and reverted to a half court formation but this did not deter City who remained focus on their goal. With not long remaining City won a short corner and Susie Edwards found the back of the net! 3-1 to Cambridge University and Norwich City showing their fitness and motivation to get some points. A huge credit to both teams on a great game of hockey but it wasn't the day for Norwich City W1s, ending on 3-1. POTM: Sophie Mullan

L (2-4) 01/02/2020 - W1 vs Upminster 1 (A / L) I BLAME IT ON THE RED SHIRTS... |
---|
WOMENS 1ST XI - 01/02/2020 VS UPMINSTER 1 (A) TEAM: Womens 1st XI DATE: 01/02/2020 FIXTURE: Womens 1st XI VS 01/02/2020 HEADLINE: I blame it on the red shirts... LEAGUE: EAST PREMIER DIVISION VENUE: Away RESULT: Loss, 2-4 REPORT: With a slow pitch, strong winds and low sun to battle against, City unfortunately conceded a very early goal caught unprepared having not yet shaken the long journey off. Upminster scored their second goal on the break, getting in between the city lines, with City getting caught out, by their physical playing style. Krystal wore a miss hit Upminster 16 on the wrist early in the game, but this did little to dull her goal scoring talent. Sophie Showcased her tidy stick skills and fantastic work rate running back to win the ball. She also showed fantastic discipline to ride out a punch in the nose and some more than questionable decisions against her. Kate slotted into the side well, weathering a storm of shoulders and elbows and making some lovely runs with the ball. Fong collecting a new hole in her shin from shutting down a short corner drag flick routine, and made her customary strong runs out of defence. Micayla showed strength from the back, making fantastically strong long balls, clearing our defensive lines and finding gaps where there appeared to be none. City’s first goal came from open play, the ball was hit in to the D from the top edge by Jo, to Krystal on the post who turned and made space reverse sweeping the ball round the Upminster GK. At half time City were 2-1 down. After this we adapted the formation from three forwards to two, with a central diamond. City's first attacking short corner of the game, a straight left to Oli was unfortunately picked out by a waiting Upminster defender. Who's flat sticks proved to be an ongoing challenge. Stacey showed great intensity working back and putting in many tackles. We also saw a masterclass in the "C drag" to fool the Upminster defence when attacking with the ball. Oli demonstrated consistently high work rate up the pitch making runs and coming back to defend the line ball well also, some particularly skillful work finding Upminster feet and winning free hits. A series of quickly taken free hits around the D incurring a string of fouls from Upminster lead the umpires to upgrade to a short corner. At City’s 2nd short corner, the ball came to Jo at the top, was slipped right to Krystal who fired the ball home from a shallow angle and clattering the backboard. Rae showed her usual composure on the ball in midfield attacking the D strongly on he right. Hannah worked hard to get us out of the tight Upminster press from left half utilising her close control skills. Ellie hustled around putting Upminster under pressure through the middle of the pitch breaking down play with swift stick skills. Upminter's final goal came from an intercepted 16 , their striker was composed in a 1v1 with Mik and found the goal to make it 4-2. Harriet's customary strong tackles were much needed, and her tight turns with the ball helped her work her way out of pressure. Mikayla fresh from her return to gymnastics showed us her Hinch inspired moves in goal and Suze kept the quick free hits coming and made many a handy tackle. City threw everything high pushing until the end with Upminster having to defend hard to keep back the many phases of City’s attack. A disappointing end result but a fantastic team effort. Player of the match, Jo Staines.

WOMENS 1ST XI - 18/01/2020 VS CAMBRIDGE CITY 2 (A) TEAM: Womens 1st XI DATE: 18/01/2020 FIXTURE: Womens 1st XI VS 18/01/2020 HEADLINE: Norwich City v Cambridge City LEAGUE: EAST PREMIER DIVISION VENUE: RESULT: We arrived at Cambridge all raring to go to then be told the pitch was still frozen down one side but after a decision by the umpires we had the go ahead. The half started and we were a bit slow off the mark and Cambridge managed to score a goal in the first minute, but this seemed to get us into action immediately and were passing the ball brilliantly through the middle and round the back. Strong defending from the back with Suse not letting anything past her. There were some lovely balls coming from the middle of the pitch to the forwards which led to our first goal from Olivia Williams who got a lovely ball from Sophie Mullan after she skilled a few players and squared the ball into the P spot leading to Olivia reverse sweeping into the goal. The match continued and we were giving them a great battle with most of the possession being ours but unfortunately with the help of some very questionable umpiring Cambridge went on to score off of 3 short corners, however we were not giving up and were playing some excellent hockey! Krystal then managed to reverse flick the ball towards the goal and it bounced of the keeper’s pads and went in – Brilliant. We fought to the end but unfortunately couldn’t score the goals we needed before the final whistle blew. The whole team played brilliantly, and the score did not reflect how we played. Man of the match Alice Gill.

WOMENS 1ST XI - 12/01/2020 VS WAPPING (A) TEAM: Womens 1st XI DATE: 12/01/2020 FIXTURE: Womens 1st XI VS 12/01/2020 HEADLINE: DAY 2 OF CITY’S DOUBLE HEADER WEEKEND LEAGUE: EAST PREMIER DIVISION VENUE: LEE VALLEY RESULT: 1-3 REPORT: After a good result on Saturday, Norwich were ready to face another strong side the following day. Wapping came out strong and played some tidy passing hockey. Norwich piled on the pressure in their attacking third, not allowing their opposition to get the ball out of defence. After a close battle in the middle of the field, the ball found its way through the line of yellow shirts to a 4 v 2 in Wapping’s favour, and the ball was slotted into the back of the net. From the restart, Norwich came back fighting with some great strength being provided in the middle by Jocasta Staines and Helen Busfield. Wapping continued to push forward and eventually won a corner which was neatly put away via deflection. City began to throw numbers forward in the hope of gaining a goal back. Micayla Tootill made a fleeting run forwards with the support of Ella Picton who converted from the top of the circle on her backhand bringing the score to 2-1. As the game was nearing the end, Wapping managed to steal one last goal before winning a corner on the final whistle. After facing 3 consecutive corners, Norwich finally cleared the ball and the game ended at 3-1.

D (2-2) 11/01/2020 - W1 vs East London 1 (H / L) CITY FIGHT BACK |

WOMENS 1ST XI - 11/01/2020 VS EAST LONDON 1 (H) TEAM: Womens 1st XI DATE: 11/01/2020 FIXTURE: Womens 1st XI VS 11/01/2020 HEADLINE: City Fight Back REPORT: LEAGUE: EAST PREMIER DIVISION VENUE: Taverham RESULT: 2-2 REPORT: After a slick start, with city working hard against a dynamic East London midfield, excellent passing from Stacey Lee and Alice Gill led Sophie Mullan to intercept the ball and drive the right wing to win a short corner. Olivia Williams received the ball to fire it into the penalty spot where Micayla Toothill deflected the ball into the top left hand corner - a fighting start for city. East London remained determined and shortly returned to win their first short corner, where following an initial City foot in the D, played advantage and found the back of the net on their second strike. It was a tense start to the second half, with end-to-end action, and City surviving two short corners. However, with City falling to ten players on the back of a sin-bin, East London gained momentum and took the lead with a second goal. Questions were being asked of City, but the team rallied brilliantly, with a passage of slick one touch passing, culminating in a scoring opportunity from Olivia Williams finding Krystal Bishop at the top of the D. Without a thought, and as ever reliable innovative in front of goal, scored a brilliant equaliser, despite excellent East London defending. Mention must go to Harriet Johnson for her feisty determination and to Ellie Brine for her ball distribution. PoM Sophie Mullan

WOMENS 1ST XI - 04/01/2020 VS NORWICH CITY 2 (H) TEAM: Womens 1st XI DATE: 04/01/2020 FIXTURE: Womens 1st XI VS 04/01/2020 HEADLINE: Pre Season LEAGUE: EAST PREMIER DIVISION VENUE: Taverham RESULT: 4-2 REPORT: Following a busy and no doubt delicious Christmas , both City teams return to the pitch with energy and enthusiasm for the season ahead! A positive start for both sides but ‘the harder the angle the easier the shot’ Krystal Bishop finds the back of the net for City 1s, putting them 1-0 up. Continued determination by both teams with excellent distribution from midfields Georgia Cleveland and Helen Busfield for City’s two’s and Ellie Brine and Lucy Tilbrooke for City’s ones kept both teams working hard. Going into half time City 1s were 2-1 up, making it 3-1 thanks to Olivia Williams not long into to the second half. This did not deter City 2s who shortly responded bringing it to 3-2 and although legs were tiring, driving forward from Harriet Johnson and Jo Staines found forward Stacey Lee who scored her second goal of the match. A final score of 4-2 to City 1s but a super effort from both teams after the Christmas break.

W (7-1) 14/12/2019 - W1 vs Wisbech (H / EH T2 R2) NCHC WOMENS 1S COMPLETE CONVINCING 2ND ROUND CUP WIN |

WOMENS 1ST XI - 14/12/2019 VS WISBECH (H) TEAM: Womens 1st XI DATE: 14/12/2019 FIXTURE: Womens 1st XI VS 14/12/2019 HEADLINE: NCHC Womens 1s complete convincing 2nd round cup win LEAGUE: England Hockey Tier 2 Cup - Round 2 VENUE: TRF RESULT: 7-1 REPORT: NCHC womens 1s welcomed Wisbech to TRF for their 2nd round Tier 2 cup clash. Having had a weeks break since their final league match this side of Christmas City were keen to get on the pitch and were in fine festive spirit. Trying out a new formation didn’t phase the team as City started out strongly playing how they like to play, moving the ball round the pitch with pace and slick passing. The midfield and forwards worked hard from the whistle keeping constant pressure on Wisbech’s defence. City’s forward line of Oli Williams, Stacey Lee and Krystal Bishop made Wisbech’s keeper work hard as they moved the ball round the D with ease and it wasn’t long before Stacey’s silky skills won a number of short corners. City’s first goal came after an initial straight strike that was saved by the keeper but came neatly to Suzy Edwards’s waiting stick at the post, textbook finish. City 1-0 up. City continued to pile on the pressure through the hardworking midfield of Alice Gill, Kate Houldey, Rachel Mayne, Jocasta Staines, Lucy Tilbrook, Rachael Phillips and captain Ellie Brine. City’s defensive unit of Harriet Preston, Suzy Edwards, Hannah Jarvis, Helen Busfield and Mikayla-Mae Glover had little to do with minimal breaks by Wisbech into City’s half with only 1 short corner that was calmly cleared and moved swiftly back up the pitch. City’s second and third goals came from Krystal ‘goal scoring machine’ Bishop. First a short corner neat deflection from the P spot and then some fantastic work down the line starting from Helen Busfield linking well with Oli and Stacey to Krystal who found the back the net with a stunning over head flick over the keeper. Half time City leading 3-0. Wisbech started the 2nd half strongly and City made a few defensive errors leading to a goal for Wisbech. City responded with increased pressure and Wisbech D penetration with several short corners being won. City’s fourth goal came from a Stacey Lee strike from the top of the D. With all the possession City’s 5th goal came from another short corner breakdown that found Jocasta Staines who calmly slotted the ball into the bottom right hand corner. More short corners won by City and another goal from Krystal (scores hat-tricks only) from a very tight angle outside the right post. Last but not least Oli scored City’s 7th and final goal after tirelessly working hard all match. Final score 7-1 to City, onwards and upwards to round 3. See you in the new year!

W (3-2) 30/11/2019 - W1 vs City Of Peterborough 1 (A / L) EARLY CHRISTMAS PRESENT! |

WOMENS 1ST XI - 30/11/2019 VS CITY OF PETERBOROUGH 1 (A) TEAM: Womens 1st XI DATE: 30/11/2019 FIXTURE: Womens 1st XI VS 30/11/2019 HEADLINE: Early Christmas Present! LEAGUE: EAST PREMIER DIVISION VENUE: Peterborough HC RESULT: 2-3 Win REPORT: NC Womens 1s travelled to high-flying Peterborough and the game was a midfield battle in the first 10 minutes, with Captain Ellie Brine, the returning Rachel Mayne and a great debut for Kate Houldey repelling the home attack. After a quick turnover and slick passing, on form Krystal Bishop found herself in the opposition circle and her hard pass across lead to a frantically retreating defender deflecting the ball pass her GK. 0-1 Not looking to sit back, high pressing Olivia Williams and Stacey Lee forced another turnover, leading to another finish by Krystal Bishop. 0-2. This woke up Peterborough and the defensive unit of Micayla Tootill, Suzy Edwards, Frankie Birkenhead and Fong Chung held firm. Great work by Hannah Jarvis and Rachael Phillips soon found NC back in the attacking 23m and great advantage play by the umpire, lead to Krystal Bishop skilfully batting a ball into the roof of the net to round off her hat-trick. 0-3. A shell-shocked Peterborough then played some outstanding hockey and reduced the deficit to 1-3 just before half-time. As expected, Peterborough came out after half-time at great pace and NC pinned into the defensive 23m, with great work by GK Mikayla Glover making great saves to keep them at bay. With a high press and greater urgency, the home side started to win a number of short corners and soon converted to make the score-line 2-3. The last 5 minutes became very frantic with most of the play being in our defensive 23m and wave after wave of attack we defended as a team to see out the game and rapidly descending fog to come away with a well deserved 3 points before the Christmas break. We would also like to thank our Men’s 2s who stayed behind for their fantastic support.

WOMENS 1ST XI - 23/11/2019 VS DEREHAM 1 (H) TEAM: Womens 1st XI DATE: 23/11/2019 FIXTURE: Womens 1st XI VS 23/11/2019 HEADLINE: Six Goal Thriller End in Stalemate LEAGUE: EAST PREMIER DIVISION VENUE: RESULT: REPORT: 6 Goal thriller ends in stalemate Norwich City were hoping to pick up 3 points against local opposition Dereham at TRF on Saturday. The home team started the brighter, applying plenty of pressure on the visitors from the first whistle. They enjoyed the lion share of possession and converted this into the opening goal when Olivia Williams beat the Dereham keeper with a reverse strike. City were buoyed by their lively opening and continued to pressure the opposition with some good link up play. However, Dereham then started to find their feet in the game and were on the receiving end of a stroke after the ball hit a City defender’s foot on the line. The Dereham taker made no mistake in converting from the spot. Undeterred, City stuck to their game and continued to look for the next goal. Stacey Lee was to break the deadlock after picking up the ball at the top of the D, beating the oncoming defenders and dispatching a shot into the roof of the net, leaving the half time score 2-1. Dereham started the stronger of the two sides in the second half and started to dominate possession at times as city struggled to work the ball out from the back. The visitors took advantage of their pressure with two goals in quick succession to turn the game on its head. City were determined not to let the game slip away and pushed once again to get back into the game with time now running out. Eventually, after some great movement and link up play between Williams and Lee meant Lee found herself at the top of the D in the final minutes of the game. She took her opportunity and accurately finished in the top right corner, beyond the reach of the Dereham goalkeeper. Unfortunately, time ran out for a winning goal to be found leaving the final score 3-3.

City started the game on top and had the majority of possession. They continued to transfer the ball well across the pitch but a defensive mistake gave Magpies the lead after a shot from the top of the D ended up in the bottom right hand corner. Despite an effort to push on City quickly conceded a second goal. City were awarded 2 short corners in the first half but were unable to convert. In the second half City continued to turn over the ball in the middle of the pitch but were unable to combine enough passes to pressurise the Magpies’ keeper. City battled and worked hard until the end but against the run of play conceded a third and final goal. City look forward to next week’s match when they take on Dereham 1s at home in a 6 pointer game.

Not the result we wanted of course (apart from Micayla Tootill!) but we were pumped for our game ahead at 1pm. There were very high winds making it hard for both teams to communicate, but our Norwich girls have some strong lungs and began the game with great strength and good passing. Bedford were working hard to push into the D with lots of attacking from their end but Norwich were not going to give up! Norwich defence were strong, and Bedford were not getting through! Fab diving saves from goalie Mikayla Glover kept us in the game, along with skills from Micalya running the ball to the half way line with no sweat! Second half: Bedford attacked hard and had a few chances but were unable to reach the back board. Norwich followed with a return attack into the Bedford half, pushing forward with great runs from Ellie Brine, Lucy Tillbrook and Georgia Cleveland always staying strong on the ball with her spinning skills. End to end game throughout kept both sides busy with Norwich working as one, attacking and defending together. Great work from our half backs Harriet Preston and Hannah Jarvis who showed great control on the ball. Norwich also held a solid central line down the middle of the pitch with brilliant transfers from Susie Edwards & Angela Hindle. Norwich were pushing hard to score with brilliant skills from Emily Francis, Krystal Bishop and Stacey Lee making some great runs with the ball, running around players. Both teams saw a number of short corners but no goals were scored. Bedford were a good strong team with very enthusiast supporters cheering them on from the side line, but Norwich were not phased by this and continued to work well as a team. A very end to end game with good play from both teams, leaving the game at 0-0 full time.

City were unable to convert their possession to goals and went into half time frustratingly 1-0 down. Unfazed, Norwich started the second half strongly and before long found an equalising goal, scored by Krystal Bishop. City continued to press hard, and, with 10 minutes to go, scored a second goal from a short corner play, also finished by Bishop. Norwich held the visitors off for the remainder of the game, despite some solid breaks from Cambridge’s attack, with goal Keeper Mikayla-Mae Glover making some important saves to ensure city kept their lead up to the final whistle. WOMENS 1ST XI - 19/10/2019 VS UPMINSTER 1 (H) TEAM: Womens 1st XI DATE: 19/10/2019 FIXTURE: Womens 1st XI VS 19/10/2019 HEADLINE: LEAGUE: EAST PREMIER DIVISION VENUE: TRF RESULT: 1-1 REPORT: Following a few disappointing results, Norwich were keen to get some points on the board on their home turf. From the first whistle, the home side looked strong and immediately took charge of the game. Norwich began playing some great possession hockey, transferring the ball and opening up Upminster’s press. Through the gaps that had formed, a long ball from Norwich’s defence found Krystal Bishop in a 1 v 1 with the goalkeeper, who fired it into the far side net bringing the score to 1-0. As the game started to heat up, Upminster fought back pressing high and piling pressure on the defence. The ball was end to end and Norwich were unlucky not to score with Emily Francis leading the forward line and providing some excellent leading runs. Upminster returned fighting and forced Mikayla Glover to make some vital saves. Upminster’s attacking play was rewarded with a well worked goal, leaving the final score at a fair 1-1. Norwich continue their East Prem journey on home soil next Saturday against Cambridge University.

L (2-5) 12/10/2019 - W1 vs Maidstone 1 (A / L) SLEEPY CITY SLOW OUT OF THE BLOCKS |

WOMENS 1ST XI - 12/10/2019 VS MAIDSTONE 1 (A) TEAM: Womens 1st XI DATE: 12/10/2019 FIXTURE: Womens 1st XI VS 12/10/2019 HEADLINE: Sleepy City Slow out of the Blocks LEAGUE: EAST PREMIER DIVISION VENUE: Maidstone Hockey Club RESULT: 2-5 REPORT: The women’s 1st X1 made the trip down to Maidstone on Saturday hoping to kick start their season after being on the wrong side of some close games already this season. The game unfortunately got off to the worst possible start with Maidstone coming out of the blocks the sharpest and pressing hard to score the opening goal inside two minutes. City tried to thwart the buoyant home team but found themselves 2-0 down soon after. The Norwich side did find their stride with a period of sustained pressure in the Maidstone circle, winning several penalty corners; but unable to convert. However, the attacking pressure continued to mount and finally broke the home defence when Krystal Bishop linked well with City debutant Stacey Lee who converted in the top right corner to bring the score to 2-1. The home team were next to score with a reverse shot despite the advances of the City defence, leaving the half time score 3-1. The visitors were keen to step things up in the second half and thought they had done just that in the early minutes when Olivia Williams converted at the back post but a lack of advantage played and a hasty blow of the whistle from the umpire meant that the goal did not stand and City were instead awarded a penalty corner which they couldn’t convert. Maidstone took full advantage of their fortune and were keen not to let their lead slip away. They scored twice more in quick succession leaving the score now 5-1. City did not lie down and continued to press. Lovely link up play down the left hand side then saw Williams find Bishop on the baseline who crossed the ball towards the flick spot with the advancing Lee able to dive to meet the cross and convert with a well timed deflection for her second of the game. Norwich continued to push but it wasn’t enough, the final scored stayed 5-2 to the hosts.

WOMENS 1ST XI - 05/10/2019 VS CAMBRIDGE CITY 2 (H) TEAM: Womens 1st XI DATE: 05/10/2019 FIXTURE: Womens 1st XI VS 05/10/2019 HEADLINE: LEAGUE: EAST PREMIER DIVISION VENUE: TRF RESULT: 0-1 REPORT: After an exciting warm up sprinting race led by Harriet Johnson (winners were Fongy, Rachael Phillips and Ellie Brine), Norwich 1s were raring to go. Even though they knew that they lost 5-1 to this strong Cambridge side before, they didn’t let this stop them. The first half saw Norwich dominating and on top with multiple circle entries from Emily Francis and a very close 1v1 from Krystal Bishop and the Cambridge goal keeper. Despite the creative hockey Norwich were playing, combined with the intensity brought about by the use of 5 subs, they were unable to convert a goal. Unfortunately, Cambridge were able to sneak a goal past goalie Micayla after a small defending error from Norwich. Although at half time Norwich were losing 1-0, this didn’t phase them. After a positive half-time team talk, Norwich 1s were determined to carry on their possessional styled hockey. High pressing from Norwich as a unit put Cambridge under lots of pressure which enabled them to gain more confidence. Despite keeping up the brilliant attacking hockey, Norwich were still not able to get back a goal. Final score was 1-0 to Cambridge.

Mikayla was making some great saves, and the back line were fighting hard, 1 nill at half time. We started the second half very well passing the ball lovely across the middle and back despite East London scoring a second goal from a short corner. After some excellent passing up the pitch we gained a short corner, Olivia Williams scored with a beautifully timed stroke to the far corner. We fought hard but couldn't quite finish any more balls, East London then scored an open play goal, a flick and another short corner in quick succession with the final score being 5-1, Ellie Brine was strong and created consistent options through out the match.
