WOMENS 5TH XI - 12/03/2022 VS NORWICH DRAGONS 5 (H) TEAM: Womens 5th XI DATE: 12/03/2022 FIXTURE: Womens 5th XI VS 12/03/2022 HEADLINE: Dragon slayers LEAGUE: EAST DIVISION 4 NORTH EAST NORTH VENUE: TRF RESULT: 2-1 win REPORT:This top of the table clash provided a great game of hockey from both sides. From the outset City put the pressure on making many attacks with some lovely passing. Dragons defence, however, was determined and the score remained 0-0 at half time. Dragons defence , however, didn't stay strong for long at the start of the second half as a great run from Ellie Thompson was made down the right wing. A lovely pass to Amy Hinchliffe was then crossed perfectly across the mouth of the goal which Mille Wimhurst neatly tucked away. City's defence was some of their best all season and kept Dragons at bay. City then got a second goal from a short corner following a lovely strike from Choe Green which Amy Hinchliffe got on the end of and deflected it in on target. The game remained a hard fought battle to the end - Dragons got a goal back late in the second half following a short corner and subsequent hit which was unluckily deflected off the shoulder of City defender Ali McLennan. Dragons were awarded two short corners right at the end of the match but an heroic City defence dug deep and managed to keep them out and having remained unbeaten all season, the Dragons had to concede defeat.

W (4-3) 05/03/2022 - W5 vs Dereham 4 (A / L) WELL DESERVED WIN |

WOMENS 5TH XI - 05/03/2022 VS DEREHAM 4 (A) TEAM: Womens 5th XI DATE: 05/03/2022 FIXTURE: Womens 5th XI VS 05/03/2022 HEADLINE: Well deserved win LEAGUE: EAST DIVISION 4 NORTH EAST NORTH VENUE:Dereham Hockey Club RESULT:4-3 W REPORT: City 6s were keen to get another win under the belt and continue the high intensity seen in recent matches. The weather was a bit miserable but we didn’t let it dampen our spirits as the whistle blew, as we knew how hard Captain Emma Guyton had worked to ensure we had a full squad for the game. We were quick to score our first goal after some impressive passing and triangle work from the attack, and our first goal was popped in by Millie Wimhurst after being pinged around the D with accurate precision. Sophie Bush was next to score with the calm composure of a master, slipping it by the goalie as if it was the easiest thing in the world. She scored another for City’s 3rd goal and Amy Hinchliff closed the 4th one with an assist from Tilly Hill. Although we were dominant in attack, our goalie Zara Hunter wasn’t let off easy, having a one on one situation with attacker which she closed down with an impressive slide and body block. Dereham got 3 goals in past defense, two of which came from a short corner to post strike making the last short corner before the end of game whistle particularly tense. City were not keen to allow a draw and closed the attacks down. Defender Allison McLellan applied great pressure on Dereham and even made some incredible runs down to attack and getting some shots on goal. Unfortunately however, 2 of these were disallowed. During the 2nd half tensions rose as one of our goals was about to be disallowed after it hit the back board but Millie Wimhurst used her immense umpiring knowledge to advocate for the team and ensure fairness in play and the goal was eventually given after some deliberation. We lost her to a green card for 2 minutes but were very impressed with her composure and knowledge of the game. Midfield played tirelessly, with great space awareness and rolling round to get past Dereham’s strong defense. POTM Emily Winter got back into her stride after a set back with a foot injury and made some classic Winnie runs dodging round the defenders and bringing the ball from D to D. She even managed a few successful passes due to amazing communication from the rest of the team. City were chuffed for the win, not allowing the disappointment of some disallowed goals to get us down. We are keen for another win next week with a solid squad.

W (6-0) 26/02/2022 - W5 vs East Coast 3 (A / L) GREAT GAME, GREAT WEATHER AND GREAT TEAS! |

WOMENS 5TH XI - 26/02/2022 VS EAST COAST 3 (A) TEAM: Womens 5th XI DATE: 26/02/2022 FIXTURE: Womens 5th XI VS 26/02/2022 HEADLINE: GREAT GAME, GREAT WEATHER AND GREAT TEAS! LEAGUE: EAST DIVISION 4 NORTH EAST NORTH VENUE: EAST COAST AWAY RESULT: 6-0 REPORT: Despite the early travel to Lowestoft, Norwich City 5s were eager to leave today with their second win of the week. The game started well with the team keeping possession and making good passes. City won two short corners early on that resulted in goals scored by Amy Hinchliffe making City 2-0 up. City were keen to try and keep pushing for goals and Matilda Hill took a fantastic strike straight past the keeper. City continued working the ball up the pitch with everyone running to each ball, marking the opposition well and making some fantastic runs. Millie Wimhurst, Sofia Hancy, Emma Guyton and Emily Winter made some excellent passes into the D giving the forwards more opportunities. Sharon Philips was in an excellent position on the post and scored City their next goal. City won yet another short corner which resulted in another goal scored by Matilda Hill and saw City 5-0 up at half time! After a small team talk in surprisingly nice weather (compared to previous weeks) City were ready for another great half. With some players playing out of position City worked hard to keep formation and keep the energy high. Millie Wimhurst injected our next short corner and ran to the left post to deflect the ball and win City their 6th goal. City worked hard to defend all 16s and worked the ball up the pitch from defence well throughout- a great team win! City left the match in good spirits after wining 6-0 and were even happier with the pizza and chips for match teas shortly after!

WOMENS 5TH XI - 23/02/2022 VS NORWICH DRAGONS 6 (A) TEAM: Womens 5th XI DATE: 23/02/2022 FIXTURE: Womens 5th XI VS 23/02/2022 HEADLINE: 5s get their mojo back! LEAGUE: EAST DIVISION 4 NORTH EAST NORTH VENUE: Dragons RESULT: 2-0 win REPORT: We have our mojo back! We had a quick trip to the dragons’ den this Wednesday for a mid week game, which brought us our first win for a couple of weeks! It was super nice to be playing with a team of all 5s players, we definitely gelled well together. We played some beautiful hockey, with lots of energy and encouragement. The highlight being Chloe’s dad cheering ‘come on city’ on the side lines! Dragons as always put up a great fight, with lots of triangle passing and some very skilled players, but we managed to have the upper hand! Thanks to goals from Chloe Green and Susan Matthews We were able to secure the 2-0 win. The POTM votes this week really reflected the match, with most players having a vote to their name, its a really positive reflection of how well we all played together!

L (0-1) 19/02/2022 - W5 vs Herlings 1 (A / L) HOCKEY OR WATER POLO |

WOMENS 5TH XIJ - 19/02/2022 VS HERLINGS 1 (A) TEAM: Womens 5th XIj DATE: 19/02/2022 FIXTURE: Womens 5th XIj VS 19/02/2022 HEADLINE: Hockey or Water Polo LEAGUE: EAST DIVISION 4 NORTH EAST NORTH VENUE: Breckland RESULT: Loss 0-1 REPORT: The pitch looked more ready for a game of water polo rather than hockey and the rain never stopped but after a quick sweep the game went ahead. The pitch conditions limited the play to short passes to prevent dribbling through big lakes and the ball getting stuck! The 5s started out the first half very strong meaning most possession was with city. City had a few close shots narrowly missing but no goals were scored. The opposition had some great shots almost scoring but the defenders kept them out. The first half ended up 0-0. A quick turn around at half time meant no one was standing still too long in the cold. The first few minutes of the second half started out the same but eventually the opposition made a breakthrough making the score 1-0. By now the rain had stopped and the weather got slightly better. City kept on fighting until the end but despite the majority of possession could not make a breakthrough to goal and the score finished as 1-0. A shoutout to the opposition sideline players who had clearly been watching the curling at the Winter Olympics and were sweeping water off the pitch to make it slightly more playable.

L (0-2) 12/02/2022 - W5 vs North Norfolk 2 (H / L) CITY FORTRESS |
---|
WOMENS 5TH XI - 12/02/2022 VS NORTH NORFOLK 2 (H) TEAM: Womens 5th XI DATE: 12/02/2022 FIXTURE: Womens 5th XI VS 12/02/2022 HEADLINE: City Fortress LEAGUE: EAST DIVISION 4 NORTH EAST NORTH VENUE: Taverham RESULT: Loss 0-2 REPORT:City Fortress On another windy day at Taverham the city 5’s were looking for a come back after a tough week away at Dereham. We quickly learnt that the game wouldn’t be an easy ride as a stronger than expected north Norfolk side made interceptions leading to strong passes, quickly moving across the pitch. Emma Guyton and Rose Byrne took turns playing a stormer as strong centre halves moving the ball up to inners Sofia Hancy and Amy Hinchcliffe with Sophie Bush and Liz Hollis pushing the ball up into the opposing d, but sadly not able to get past the goalkeeper. North Norfolk then managed to get a short corner and get their first goal, ruffling our feathers, and meaning that that city went into the second half 1-0 down. After a quick half time pep talk we went into the second half with our heads high, making strong passes across the width of the pitch, with a few short corners won on the attack. The pace of the ball and movement of players was sadly not enough for us to get us even with the opposing team. North Norfolk kept coming at us with Attack after attack being held off by a strong defensive line from city, with goalkeeper Zara seeing the most action of the season and showing strong form with save after save, with barely any time to catch breath! Sarah Sandwell, Niamh Rushton and Jess Tunnard were busy clearing the d with great support from all of the halves picking up players and transferring the ball back up the pitch. Millie Wimhurst, Sharon Phillips and Esther Hamilton assisted by making great runs up and down the wing to move the ball quickly away from danger, making chances higher up the pitch for city. Unfortunately north Norfolk made a break late in the second half, scoring a second goal from a strike at the top of the d making a final score of 2-0. Although a disappointing score, everyone worked relentlessly throughout the game with determination to get even. Onwards and upwards for the 5’s!!

W (5-1) 29/01/2022 - W5 vs Watton 2 (H / L) A WINDY WIN |

WOMENS 5TH XI - 29/01/2022 VS WATTON 2 (H) TEAM: Womens 5th XI DATE: 29/01/2022 FIXTURE: Womens 5th XI VS 29/01/2022 HEADLINE: A Windy Win LEAGUE: EAST DIVISION 4 NORTH EAST NORTH VENUE: Taverham RESULT: 5-1 REPORT: Initially a little bit of a slow start for City 5s today with Watton maintaining possession and penetrating their attacking D in the early stages of the game. City kicked into action securing the first goal of the game. Watton scored shortly after, meaning we headed into half-time with a score sheet of 1-1. After a team pep talk, we knew we needed to intercept the opposition with speed, accuracy and determination. Soon after the second half began, we found our feet and rhythm as a team. With some additional players this week, by the 2nd half we had truly settled into the formation and feel of the match. The wind picked up and at times we felt like we were running in toffee, but we secured 4 goals in the second half with some great opportunities from midfield and attack and amazing defence to ensure the ball remained in our attacking half. 2 successful short corners later and 3 other goals (including a stormer of a goal from Matilda Hill making a single handed bee-line for the goal, as well as Helen Brockington, Evie Brockington and Olivia Hill), we secured the victory with a 5-1 win against Watton. An incredible team effort with high spirits and a well deserved win taking us up to 2nd in the League.

WOMENS 5TH XI - 15/01/2022 VS UNIVERSITY OF EAST ANGLIA 3 (H) TEAM: Womens 5th XI DATE: 15/01/2022 FIXTURE: Womens 5th XI VS 15/01/2022 HEADLINE: A strong win LEAGUE: EAST DIVISION 4 NORTH EAST NORTH VENUE: TRF RESULT: 4-0 win REPORT: The game today began a fairly even one, with equal intensity from both sides! The UEA were quick on the break but our brilliant defence remained strong, clearing the ball up the pitch allowing the forward line several opportunities to run to goal. This enabled us to score our first goal of the game, Sophie Bush carried the ball up to the D where Millie Wimhurst had positioned herself very well in order to receive it and score. The second goal came soon after, Amy Hinchliffe secured us a short corner which they played advantage to resulting in a goal from Sophie Bush. We ended the half on a high but were sure to enter the second half carrying the mindset that it was ‘0-0’. The midfield and attack managed to create chances which resulted in two lovely goals scored by Marie Hood and Amy Hinchliffe. Everybody put in a great effort and should be very pleased with the win!!

W (2-1) 08/01/2022 - W5 vs Loddon (H / F) A BRILLIANT TEAM WIN |
---|
WOMENS 5TH XI - 08/01/2022 VS LODDON (H) TEAM: Womens 5th XI DATE: 08/01/2022 FIXTURE: Womens 5th XI VS 08/01/2022 HEADLINE: A brilliant team win LEAGUE: EAST DIVISION 4 NORTH EAST NORTH VENUE: RESULT: REPORT: In what was a cold and wet start to the day City 5’s played Loddon in a friendly match. We didn’t quite know what to expect as Loddon aren’t in our league, but nevertheless went out all guns blazing and played some great hockey as a team. Unfortunately, we lost Emily Winter to injury early on in the game, but we didn’t let this phase us and continued to push on. The game was end-to-end, with both teams quickly getting into it, but it was Loddon who scored first, and though City had many chances we didn’t manage to equalise (yet). The halftime score was 1-0 to Loddon. In the second half, City really upped our game, and some brilliant play from the whole team led to two goals in as many minutes, the first from Helen Brockington and the second from Evie Brockington. This put a spring in our step, but Loddon kept on attacking right to the end. Our amazing defence of Emma Guyton, Rose Byrne, Annette Peters and Jane Loughrige ensured that Loddon didn’t get too many more chances, however in the final 10 minutes they were unlucky not to score again. Everyone had a great game, and it’s always good to come out with a win! Let’s hope this is a good omen for the second half of the season.

L (1-2) 18/12/2021 - W5 vs East Coast 3 (H / L) A GLOOMY AND MISTY DAY WITH A RESULT TO MATCH! |

WOMENS 5TH XI - 18/12/2021 VS EAST COAST 3 (H) TEAM: Womens 5th XI DATE: 18/12/2021 FIXTURE: Womens 5th XI VS 18/12/2021 HEADLINE: A gloomy and misty day with a result to match! LEAGUE: EAST DIVISION 4 NORTH EAST NORTH VENUE: TRF RESULT: Lost 2-1 REPORT: It was a dreary start to the weekend with thick mist descending onto the pitches at Taverham but the Women's 5s were all in good spirits and raring to go for their last league match before Christmas. We were optimistic for a win against East Coast 3s who were near the bottom of the league table. However, we should know to expect the unexpected when it comes to hockey. City 5s started well, with a strong squad and good number of substitutions. We took on a team of 10- another point we thought would count in our favour. We held a strong formation and passed well throughout the first half but keep meeting the same extremely strong defender who seemed to be everywhere in the D. She also took most of the 16s belting the ball with brute force and accuracy to 2 midfield players who controlled most of the play for East Coast. City struggled to intercept any of these balls despite pressing hard and setting up a W for every free hit. A stroke of luck in the form of 2 short corners led to city scoring the first goal from an excellent slip from Susan Matthews and strike from Emma Guyton at the top of the D. East Coast left 2 attackers high in our 25 but they were held at bay time and again by excellent interception skills from Annette Peters, Emily Winters, Ellie Tompkinson, Rose Byrne, Jess Tunnard and of course Jess Westbury. Unfortunately, the second half did not go our way. The continuing efforts of the East Coast attack led to us conceding two goals. Despite excellent composure on the ball and a steady stream of attacks from the city inners and forwards, Lucy Wimhurst, Sharon Phillips, Amy Hinchliffe, Susan Matthews, Millie Wimhurst and Sofia Hancy we were unable to equalise. A frustrating loss but we always enjoy our games and East Coast played well with great enthusiasm. We look forward to meeting them again in the next half of the season.

W (2-0) 04/12/2021 - W5 vs Beccles 1 (A / L) A WELL DESERVED VICTORY |

WOMENS 5TH XI - 04/12/2021 VS BECCLES 1 (A) TEAM: Womens 5th XI DATE: 04/12/2021 FIXTURE: Womens 5th XI VS 04/12/2021 HEADLINE: A well deserved victory LEAGUE: EAST DIVISION 4 NORTH EAST NORTH VENUE: Langley RESULT: Win REPORT: City dominated possession throughout the game with contributions from everyone who played. From the start the team showed the opposition their desire to win. They passed the ball accurately to one another meaning there was no loose balls for the opposition to chase down. The press was set quickly before Beccles had a chance to clear their line and City covered the gaps well and intercepted the ball more often than not. However, goals were proving hard to score with the Beccles defence stopping most attacks and shots that did get through narrowly missing the post. However ,the breakthrough came when the ball fell to Ellis Couzins on the edge of the D and her clean strike put City ahead before half time. In the second half the possession stayed with City and they continued to press forward with many more missed chances on goal. The second goal was eventually scored by Millie Wimhurst after strikes from Amy Hinchliffe, Susan Matthews and Liz Hollis had all been cleared as the ball bounced around the D. The ball rarely crossed the half way line however when it did it was dealt with efficiently by the defensive team of Jo Di-Corpo, Allison McLellan, Niamh Rushton, Chloe Green and Emma Guyton. The ball was passed quickly and play was switched across the pitch with the midfield of Esme Abbott, Emily Winter and Sofia Hancy dominating play. A great result and a good team performance.

WOMENS 5TH XI - 27/11/2021 VS THETFORD TOWN 1 (H) TEAM: Womens 5th XI DATE: 27/11/2021 FIXTURE: Womens 5th XI VS 27/11/2021 HEADLINE: A wet and windy win! LEAGUE: EAST DIVISION 4 NORTH EAST NORTH VENUE: TRF RESULT: 2-0 Win REPORT: A very wet and cold match today. We had several of our players playing in different positions so it took us a few minutes to settle but after first 10 minutes we where finding our way through to Thetford’s D. Some great runs from Amy Hinchliffe, Millie wimhurst and Sofia Hancy. The middle field did a cracking job at supporting and giving us the chance to switch sides for attack. Goal 1 was from a short corner. Perfectly injected from Millie Wimhurst and a straight strike from top of the D from Chloe Green in to the goal. The second goal came from Millie again who tapped it in to the goal from the right post thanks to a great pass from Jane Loughridge. The second half was goal less but not due to lack of opportunities unfortunately we didn’t manage to find the back of the goal. Emily Winter had a couple of near misses as did Amy Hinchliffe and Emma Guyton. Our super team managed to prevent Thetford from attacking too much. we did have one super save from Zara Hunter after a hockey stick slipped out of Alison McLellan's hands during a free hit !! Everyone did incredibly well today and a great team effort. Thetford did well in the cold and wet to keep a clean sheet in the second half.

Dragons applied the pressure quickly but city's defense was strong, and we marked up the attackers on post to prevent any slip ins. First half ended at 1 up to Dragons for a short corner goal after a tactical slip. However we weren't put off and came back enthusiastic to get our own goal. Unfortunately 2 more goals were scored by dragons, another from a short corner and the last one from active play in the D. The whole team played a strong game of hockey and we managed to get a few attacking drives up the pitch. It was a challenge as dragons had a high press but the team should be feeling proud of their performance and the effor put in !

After an intense warm up, led by team Physio Sofia Hancy, City were ready to play . The game started well with some excellent passes from City. City finally got a short corner and managed to covert it into a goal scored by Emily Winter. However, Dereham worked hard to equalise leaving the game 1:1 at half time. City came back determined in the second half; wanting the 3 points. City continued making some excellent passes and Sophie Bush passed a great ball to Sharon Phillips who scored a goal that was unfortunately disallowed. City continued to work hard and defended many short corners brilliantly. Our Goalie, player of the match, Georgina Barratt certainly stopped Dereham from scoring and securing us a draw. Despite drawing, City kept their heads high and played some great hockey.

WOMENS 5TH XI - 30/10/2021 VS NORTH NORFOLK 2 (A) TEAM: Womens 5th XI DATE: 30/10/2021 FIXTURE: Womens 5th XI VS 30/10/2021 HEADLINE: Brilliant Team Performance LEAGUE: EAST DIVISION 4 NORTH EAST NORTH VENUE: RESULT: REPORT: On what turned out to be a sunnier afternoon than expected, City 5s took on North Norfolk 2s. The first half had multiple chances for both teams and lots of great play all over the pitch. City had a couple of short corners, and whilst these were played very well no goals came from this half for either team. The second half was a different story, with lots of end-to-end play resulting in dozens of chances for both teams, along with several short corners for North Norfolk. However, a strong defensive unit of Annette Peters, Vicki Myhill, Rose Byrne, Chloe Green and Lauren O’Hanlon, plus Zara Hunter in goal, kept out all but one attempt on goal. Meanwhile, down the other end City were scoring goals! Both came from some great team build-up play, with the first being scored by Anna Horsley and the second by Millie Whimhurst. A brilliant team performance keeps our unbeaten streak going!

Zara Hunter made some great saves in the city goal. City came on with a bit more force in the second half, having more possession and Emily Winter’s rapid breaks from the back line helped to throw Dereham off. City then scored 3 goals, assisted by Susan Mathews and Emily Winter, scored by Millie Wimhurst. A strong disagreement over the 3rd goal ended with some heated words and two yellow cards given but in the end it made no difference. Neither City nor Dereham let the disruption put them off their stride and City defended their lead well till the end.

WOMENS 5TH XI - 09/10/2021 VS WATTON 2 (A) TEAM: Womens 5th XI DATE: 09/10/2021 FIXTURE: Womens 5th XI VS 09/10/2021 HEADLINE: Sand and Sun- it felt like being at the beach. LEAGUE: NORFOLK LEAGUE DIVISION 1 LEAGUE SPONSORS: EMPRESA LIMITED VENUE: Watton RESULT: 2-2 Draw The first 5 minutes felt very tense, slow balls on the sandy pitch meaning interceptions from Watton who seemed strong - knowing how to treat the ball in regards to the pitch. A break by city a few minutes later, leading to a ruthlessly hit goal from Millie Wimhurst, lifted moral and eventually lead to another awesome goal from Emily Winter. By the end of the first half City were looking really strong, very fast and having lots of possession. The second half was just as strong, but Watton came on stronger than the first half, a goal and then an unfortunate penalty drew the scores. City did really well to keep Watton from gaining another point - there was a particularly great save by Jess Tunnard during a short corner with 2 minutes to go! Overall, both teams played really well, adapting to the pitch well and good communication - we can’t be disappointed with a draw!

REPORT: Today’s game saw a sterling effort from the whole team. Our defence scarcely failed to prosper in tackles and remained solid in the defensive short corners, denying Dragons the chances to strike. At the very end of the first half Zara Hunter faced a penalty flick which she successfully saved with her right hand. We stretched the pitch well making use of the pockets and forming some triangular patterns upfront. Two goals were scored as a result of short corners (Matilda Hill and Sophie Bush). Other goals were also scored by Amy Hinchliffe and Sophie Bush. It was lovely to be told by an opposition player that we definitely deserved every single goal we scored. What lovely sportmanship from the Dragons players. Well done today everybody a great team performance!!

UEA were quick on the break but with great communication and working together we where able to stop any attacks. The second half was the turning point for us. Several short corners and 4 goals later 2 from Millie Wimhurst, 1 from Amy Hinchliffe and 1 from Emily Winter right on the final whistle secured a 4-0 win for city. Good luck to Maddie Smith and Lucy Wimhurst who start uni this week. Welcome to Emily Winter and Jess Tunnard to 5s. LEAGUE: NORFOLK LEAGUE DIVISION 1 LEAGUE SPONSORS: EMPRESA LIMITED VENUE: Dereham HockeyClub RESULT: 4-0 Win REPORT: The womens 5s really came together in this match to gain a great win against an experienced Dereham side. The first period of the first half was evenly matched with Dereham having more possession and looking strong on the break. As the game progressed improved passing by Norwich and some great runs resulted in a goal from Lucy Wimhurst. A great individual run from Evie Brockington netted Norwich a second goal. Norwich dominated the second half with a goal from Susan Matthews and a well worked short corner from Helen Brockington. A fifth goal was unluckily disallowed. Dereham manage a few forays into the Norwich half but great defending meant keeper Jo had little to do. A great effort from all the players.

WOMENS 5TH XI - 04/09/2021 VS BURY ST EDMUNDS 4 (H) TEAM: Womens 5th XI DATE: 04/09/2021 FIXTURE: Womens 5th XI VS 04/09/2021 HEADLINE: Draw against Bury LEAGUE: NORFOLK LEAGUE DIVISION 1 LEAGUE SPONSORS: EMPRESA LIMITED VENUE: Taverham RESULT: 1-1 REPORT: Our team came together nicely to play some good hockey today. There was some excellent work and chances created on the right by our two new development girls Hollie Blackham and Chloe Holmes- what great additions these girls will be to any team. Some of us were brushing cobwebs and moths from our hockey kit before the match started but it certainly didn't show, with some strong fitness levels and lots of excellent passing and interceptions all round. We had many chances on goal but unfortuanately were only successful once when Hollie Blackham found the backboard. We look forward to playing some more friendlies together to get our formation a bit tighter before the league starts.
