 What do we need?Norwich City Hockey Club is growing - now over 600 members in 15 teams.
We play too many home matches played at the UEA - not really home. Minis won’t fit - we have over 150 minis training on Sunday mornings!
Answer: We badly need another pitch! The Outline plan includes 1) New pitch ~ £420k 2) BMX track ~ £ 30k (promised when we built the clubhouse) 3) Re-carpet current pitch ~ £130k Target date for completion is August 2011. Tim Aldous (tim@trfhockey.org) Bill Anthony (bill@trfhockey.org) are handling the planning meetings and applications for centralised funds, but there’s a good degree of match-funding available so we’re looking for major support from club members and supporters! Club Fundraising We have already had a good deal of success, thanks to the hard work of Club members: Tom Marshall’s clinic has sponsored the minis’ shirts. www.globaldiagnostics.co.uk The Raffles’ kindly ran another gourmet breakfast raising £800. www.rafflesrestaurants.co.uk The minis sponsored dribble and raffle raised £1,800. This has pushed the total already raised to well over £30,000. There are plenty of opportunities for members and parents to contribute, making as much or little effort as you wish. It would be great if everyone could consider to a) sponsor a pitch-side advertising hoarding [more >] b) put Bill or Tim in touch with individuals or companies who may support us. c) join the club lottery - send an email to lottery@norwichcityhc.co.uk d) support club events and initiatives e) spread the word to your friends outside the club!
